Here is my experience.

As you know I am all about mainstream makeup. Most of the time, they end up being hype-worthy. The thing is, I am also extremely picky with my mascaras. Why? Because I believe that of all the makeup products you can get, mascaras are the ones that you don’t really have to spend much to get the job done.

I have also mentioned this many times over the years but here I go again: I have been using the same mascara since I am 15.

Yup, they should give me a prize for how loyal I’ve been!

So even though I was really excited to try this product as I’ve seen it recommended by makeup Youtube channels since the beginning of time, I knew the Lancôme Lash Idôle Mascara had big shoes to fill. Especially taking into consideration its whooping retail price of CAD 37.

See my first time using this product below:

I opened the mascara, take the first dip with my brush and start applying as I usually do with my drugstore 15 yo. holly grail. I am working my magic and almost instantly, the mascara dries out in my lashes. It was fast! Fastest than I am used to with my drugstore *non waterproof* one. Could that be the reason? Not sure as Ive tried other waterproof mascaras and never experienced that before.

So I blamed that one on me and gave it another chance. This time using a generic disposable mascara wand and applying the product faster. I achieved better results this time!

Is it worth thy hype? Yes. Will I stop being loyal to my Maybelline The Falsies mascara? Absolutely not 🙂 I’ll save those 20 for another great product 😉
