Bringing you another The Ordinary product that belongs to my daily makeup routine.

In honour of Deciem’s Slowvember, the only sale Deciem ever does -with 23% off in all of their products- including The Ordinary.

This is the 3rd of 4 posts about Deciem products I use but I haven’t mentioned before. Always giving you a bit more of information before you try them, so you decide whether they’d be a good fit for you.

What you need to know before you try The Ordinary concealer

Choosing the right shade is not so easy

At least not as easy as they say. From been in the store and trying on all the available shades I can tell you that their advice of choosing the same shade as you use for their foundation is not the best tip. In my case, I am a true 1.2 N for my foundation but my concealer is a 1.2 Y. Why? Because using my same shade was making me look like a zombie! And also you’ll need a yellowish tone to truly cover your dark circles.

It is not an internet favourite

Many people don’t like the formula, it’s very dry and creases easily if you don’t prep your skin properly. I find that applying my skincare + the Ordinary foundation + the Ordinary concealer gives me amazing results.

Very cheap and also… very small

The concealer (same as the foundation) is cheaper than your regular drugstore makeup. But, it’s small. It’s so small that looks like a sample! So, if you are taking advantage of the promotion you might want to go double.

It’s not THAT different from higher brands

You know, I’ve tried many higher brands of concealer before   All the issues I’ve mentioned about The Ordinary concealer, I’ve had with other brands. It’s just the nature of finding the perfect concealer (which really doesn’t exist if you don’t prep your skin properly or choose the right shade).

So yes, I am giving this concealer a thumbs up. It does the job!

P.S.  My apologies for the late posts and improvised images lately. Having a 9 to 5 and this beautiful side passion altogether is not easy every week but it’s definitely worth it. More on that coming soon 🤍
