If you are into skincare, you know that Korean skincare runs in another league, way ahead of Western skincare products.

It’s been a year since I started taking my skincare game serious and it has evolved a lot since then. If you read my previous post My “The Ordinary” Skincare – Updated you know that I have gotten amazing results with this brand (me and the entire internet) but, I’ve always been curious of Korean skincare just because I watch K-dramas and their skin is flawless. I mean, it’s not called glass skin for nothing!

Though this website, you are following along many of my journeys (with skincare, fashion, fitness, my hobbies…) and I my intention is for us to learn together. This time, you will follow me along my journey to achieving Glass Skin and what a better way to start than by adding Korean skincare products to my actual routine, they invented the trend after all.

If you don’t know what glass skin is, glass skin is a term used to describe a complexion that looks luminous and poreless, like made out of glass.

When doing my research on how to achieve glass skin, the first thing to pop up was the popular 10 steps Korean skincare routine.

I must say, I am very happy with my The Ordinary routine I have created but, I figured that I could just stick to my routine and add the steps I was missing from the Korean 10 step routine, using Korean products.

The steps I have added to my routine are: Toning, Essence and Moisturizing (I still use The Ordinary Natural Factors moisturizer but I was looking for something with an increased amount of active ingredients in it to use at night).

Below are the products I have added to my routine and my thoughts today after using them for 6 months:

innisfree – Blueberry Rebalancing Lotion – 130ml

I apply this toner right after cleansing with a cotton pad. It leaved my skin really soft. Toner are complexion boosters and tighten your pores to reduce exposure to harsh chemicals (including the ones in tao water as chlorine).

COSRX ADVANCED SNAIL 96 MUCIN POWER ESSENCE

Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence

Right after the toner, my next step is this essence. I had no idea what an essence was before starting my glass skin journey. Now I think I am ever coming back to using this. It leaves my skin with such a beautiful glow but my skin feels like if I have applied nothing!

Please note that the reason to use an essence is to improve what the next skincare products in the line will do. So it is a skincare product booster which is why I think adding this product to my routine has really made such a notorious improvement on my skin.

**cruelty free brand**

MIZON – SNAIL REPAIR PERFECT CREAM 50ML

MIZON – SNAIL REPAIR PERFECT CREAM 50ML

If you read the ingredients on the essence I just recommended, you will notice there is snail extract which is an ingredient I haven’t seen on Western brands. Please not this brand is cruelty free too and that snails are not killed for snail products.

Snail mucin has all that your skin needs in one. It has Hyaluronic Acid, antioxidants, stimulates collagen production, and more!

These are the first K-brands I’ve tried and I am pleasantly impressed. I will continue to research and try new brands along the way. These products were purchased with my money, this post is not sponsored.

Hoping this helps you make up your mind about trying new brands in your routine and a completely new set of ingredients (new for us).

With love,

Andrea
